Cindy Abney (pronouns: she/her) is a seasoned licensed independent clinical social worker who works with adults, couples, and adolescents. Her areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-harm, spirituality, and substance use disorders. She utilizes treatment approaches that are evidenced-based and uniquely tailored to each client.

Cindy has worked with diverse populations in a variety of community settings ranging from community mental health settings, youth programs, homeless shelters, to drug and alcohol treatment facilities. Her approach to counseling is putting the client first and making sure they oversee their own treatment.



Cindy’s approach to therapy is holistic and cognitive-focused because she believes in exploring the relationship between a person’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and addressing the client as a whole person: body, soul, and spirit. Her strengths include empathic listening, problem-solving, authenticity, compassion, kindness, love of learning and humor.
